Twitter rolls out new features

Twitter has rolled out two new mobile features to make photos on the micro-blogging platform more social.

Tweeters are now able to tag people in images while also having the capability of uploading four photographs for each tweet.

While social media lovers will be familiar with the art of tagging friends, family and colleagues within Facebook, this facility has not been available for twitter’s hundreds of millions of active users – until now.

You can now tag up to 10 people per photo while retaining your full 140 character limit per tweet. Like with Facebook, if you’re tagged in a tweet you’ll receive a notification informing you that you have been included in a twitter image.

Along with this addition is the ability to share a series of up to four images which will automatically create a collage. The new facility has been rolled out on iPhone and will shortly be introduced to Android and twitter.com.

Whichever platform you’re on, you’ll be able to view tweets containing multiple photos even if you don’t yet have the functionality to post a collage yourself.

Both photo-tagging and tweets containing multiple images will display within embedded tweets.
